Tunisia-Parliamentary immunity- Slim Laghmani: Sahbi Smara should sleep in cell tonight

Public law professor Slim Laghmani stated yesterday that “Sahbi Smara should sleep in a cell tonight.

According to the professor, the latter is not covered by the irresponsibility of MPs within the meaning of article 68 of the Constitution which affirms that “No civil or criminal legal action may be brought against a member of the Assembly nor the latter be arrested or tried, because of opinions or proposals made or acts carried out in relationship with their parliamentary functions ”. The provisions of article 69 are likewise not applicable because it is a case of flagrante delicto, he revealed.
