Tunisia- PDL: Tarek Ftiti seeks to mislead public opinion

The PDL condemned the statements of the second deputy Speaker of The House of People’s Representatives “HPR” Tarak Ftiti who dismissed that Parliament’s office took any decision to ban the security escort from accompanying MPs from accessing Bardo Palace.

The party evoked that a document signed on April 2, 2021, by house speaker Rached Ghannouchi confirms that the latter indeed prohibited escort agents who accompany certain MPs from entering the Bardo Palace.

According to the PDL, Ftiti’s declarations has no other purpose than to mislead public opinion.

It called for keeping the security institution away from political tensions, recollecting the consequences that such a decision could have on the security and even the lives of some deputies.
