Tunisia-PDL to institute legal proceedings against two bills

The Free Destourian Party (PDL) announced its intention to institute legal proceedings with the administrative court to halt the transferal of two bills to the plenary session of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR).

The draft laws concern agreements with Qatar and Turkey, leader of the PDL Abir Moussi said , according to her the review in case proceedings of these two bills is a notorious breach of the Constitution, if not an effort to force a political agenda within the framework of a “project of conquest of the Muslim Brotherhood”.

She has invited the President Kais Saied and the elected members of parliament not to vote on these bills. Among the rights of the Head of State, the protection of national security and the political and economic stability of the country, she stated.

According to Moussi, these bills do not in any way help the interests of Tunisia but rather the interests of Turkey and Qatar, which, according to her, are attempting to exert control over the national economy.

The two draft laws involve the opening of a section of the Qatar Fund for the Development and Encouragement of Investment with Turkey
