Tunisia-Placed in detention, deterioration of the state of health of Mehdi Ben Gharbia

Mehdi Ben Gharbia’s state of health declined following investigations and his arrest yesterday, Saturday, October 16, 2021. 
The former MP was placed in custody late at night from Saturday to Sunday, October 17, 2021 (4 a.m.).
According to a press release from the Tunis Court of First Instance, this action was taken against a background of suspicion of tax crimes and money laundering. The Aouina Economic and Financial Crimes Brigade was in charge of the inquiry.
