Tunisia-PM Elyes Fakhfakh:Offenders violating mandatory isolation will have to pay fines between 1,000 to 5,000 TND

People who break the quarantine measures will have to pay a penalty of 50 dinars and double if they repeat the transgression, in accordance with the decree-law announced and published in the Official Gazette, Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh announced in live TV interview aired on Sunday evening.

Offenders violating mandatory isolation will have to pay fines between 1,000 to 5,000 TND, he added.

On reports about poor circumstances in some mandatory isolation centres, the PM announced the country is in a war, “which requires accepting some conditions,” noting that there has been some improvement in the services provided by the isolation centres that currently house 3,500 people.
