Tunisia-PM Fakhfakh meets presidents of national organisations

Developments of the country’s political, social and economic circumstances were the centre of a meeting held Tuesday between the Prime Minister Elyes Fakhfakh, Secretary-General of the Tunisian General Labor Union (UGTT), Noureddine Tabboubi, President of the Tunisian confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA) Samir Majoul, and President of the Tunisian Union of Agriculture and Fisheries (UTAP) Abdelmajid Ezzar.

During this meeting,Fakhfakh emphasised the necessity to uphold State institutions, the Constitution and the rule of law, in managing disputes between the various parties.

The economic situation, which is impaired by the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and by its own organic crises, needs the instant activation of the rescue plan started by the government to produce the desired goals set by the State.

The PM stressed the obligation to create a proper environment which would support achieve social plans and answer the expectations of the regions and social groups , away from political tensions and partisan struggles.

“Tunisia can no longer stand any form of destabilisation or political maneuvers. The current situation requires us to favour the country’s high interest so as to save the State,” said Fakhfakh.

The presidents of national organisations agreed on the need to keep away from political tension and to speed up the resolution of the real problems and issues that matter most to Tunisians.

They said the country’s political, economic and social situation requires more than ever to rely on dialogue so as to build true national unity.
