Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi, on Saturday, expressed Tunisia’s full solidarity with the government and people of France, in the wake of Friday’s «despicable» terrorist attack on a police officer in Rambouillet.
The Prime Minister said in a statement terrorism in all its forms can not affect the will of free people to coexist and share the values of tolerance and solidarity. Tunisia, whose many nationals have lost their lives fighting terrorism, will always be “on the side of friends and all free peoples in the face of this fight.» The Prime Minister stressed, in this regard, the need to combine all efforts, regionally and internationally, to fight terrorism, extremism and violence and to guard against the serious consequences of these scourges on the security and stability of countries and peoples in the region. He urged commitment to the fundamental values of tolerance, the just way and dialogue as universal human values. A 49-year-old police officer, on Friday, was stabbed outside the police station in Rambouillet. Her attacker, a 36-year-old Tunisian who arrived in France in 2009, was fatally shot by police officers, a few minutes, the French press reported. (TAP) |
