Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi received today, Friday, April 23, 2021, France Ambassador to Tunisia André Parant at Kasbah governmental palace.
Mr Mechichi emphasised that Tunisia, like the rest of the world, is going through a hard economic situation due to the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, adding that the administration wishes to build a new economic dynamic in cooperation with national organizations and with countries allied with Tunisia.
He likewise presented a briefing on the economic reform program that the government had set in place in partnership with national organizations and economic specialists, before presenting it to the International Monetary Fund to mobilize the financial resources needed for its implementation.
For his part, the French Ambassador asserted his country’s support for the Tunisian government regarding the initiative for dialogue with national organizations and the implementation of the structural reforms he plans to launch, especially in the area of public finance.
The meeting was likewise a chance to discuss the final preparations for the Francophonie summit that will e held in Djerba on November 20 and 21, 2021.
