Tunisia-PM Mechichi Requests the central bank to intervene to finance the state budget deficit

Speaking at a press conference, prime minister Hichem Mechichi said that the maximum that the government can do under the framework of the supplementary finance bill is to reduce the deficit by two points through a number of measures, the most prominent of which is the postponement of the payment of some of the loans programmed in the state budget for the year 2020.

The PM called on the Central Bank to intervene directly in order to finance the state budget deficit for the year 2020, which he said would not exceed 3 billion dinars.
