Tunisia – PM Mechichi urgently formalizes changes he made to the composition of his cabinet

As soon as he departed the meeting of the National Security Council in Carthage palace, prime minister Hichem Mechichi rushed to convene his cabinet of ministers, using the videoconference technique, where he formalized the modifications made to the composition of his administration, in the sense of creating or cancellation of certain ministries, as allowed by Article 92 of the Constitution.

It was, therefore, decided the following changes:

  • Rename the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Professional Integration to become the Ministry of Youth and Sport
  • Rename the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mines to become the Ministry of Industry and SMEs
  • Create the Ministry of Vocational Training, Employment and the Solidarity and Social Economy
  • Create the Ministry of Energy and Mines.
