Tunisia-Popular Current condemns Tunisia’s embroilment in international and regional disputes

The Popular Current firmly condemned the “serious American initiative” associating to the feasibility of deploying forces on Tunisian territory.
“This American movement is a clear breach of the sovereignty of Tunisia and pushes the country into roaring international and regional conflicts,” the party stated in a statement.
The American administration has been seeking for decades to build military bases in Tunisia and the Maghreb. It is presently planning its “strategic theatre” by driving the region into turmoil through terrorist groups prepared by their Turkish ally towards Libya.
This turmoil will be America’s justification for regional and international military interventions, comparable to what befell in the middle east to damage and divide the countries of the region.
The Party considers the colonialist forces, especially the American administration and the Zionist movement, try to perpetuate chaos in Libya and other Arab countries.
“The single resolution is that popular forces in the region assume their responsibility and put stress on their passive and compliant regimes to put a close to foreign interference and civil armed conflicts. We must support the Libyan people to combat terrorism, protect the unity and sovereignty of their country and restore it on national, sovereign and democratic foundations, the party said.”
The party called on the Tunisian people, national forces and all the citizens of the Maghreb to be watchful against what is being carried out against Tunisia and the region and to prepare for resistance against any form of foreign military presence.
We must stand against all the forces linked to the American-Zionist project, mainly the Turkish regime and the Muslim brotherhood groups
