The first criminal chamber specializing in financial corruption cases of the Tunis Court of First Instance has decided to delay until July 4 the examination of the case implicating Slim Ben Hmidane, former Minister of State Domains, as well as other executives of the state litigation office.
The case involves the circumstances by which a Tunisian resident in France, named Abdelmajid Bouden, obtained a document permitting him to claim compensation from the Tunisian State in a dispute between him and the French Bank of Tunisia.
The list of accused includes Slim Ben Hmidane, a former advisor to the Ministry of State Property, two executives from the institution responsible for state litigation, as well as Abdelmajid Bouden, currently on the run.
The accusations against the people concerned include exploitation of their official position by a public official to improperly obtain advantages for themselves or others, and to cause damage to the administration.
