Tunisia-Presidency of Republic dismisses Erdogan made a request to use Tunisian air and sea spaces

The presidency of the republic firmly denied media statements about a purported appeal made by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to President Kais Saied to utilise the Tunisian air space and maritime zone to enter Libya.

In an issued statement, the presidency said that Erdogan has never made such request and the Tunisian President has not bargained with this non-negotiable matter.

They pointed out that circulating reports in recent days on several sources intend to weaken the reliability of the Tunisian official position and to hurt Tunisia’s diplomatic relationships with a number of countries.

The presidency stressed Tunisia’s devotion to preserving its sovereignty and distance itself from the axis policy, emphasising its attachment to international legitimacy in order to save peoples of the region partition and dispute.
