After their tripartite meeting, president Beji Caid Essebsi welcomed Tunisia foreign minister Khamis al-Jahnawi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum.
Essebsi properly communicated Tunisia’s deep concern about the ongoing situation in Libya. The president called for an immediate cease-fire and the extensive restoration of political dialogue. Furthermore, He emphasized that in the most beneficial interest of all responsible parties, Libya needs to work on restoring its security and stability.
For his part, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry highlighted the need of a united front in order, to push Libya to promptly return to its national dialogue process.
Moreover, Algerian minister Sabri Boukadoum emphasized the crucial role fulfilled by the three neighbouring countries in restoring peace and stability to Libya. He further, stressed the importance of coordination and joint actions in resuming the political path and the achievement of a comprehensive compromise.
