Tunisia-President Kais Saied denounces corruption and foreign influence

Reaffirmation of Security and National Integrity

President Kais Saied, welcomed this Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Carthage Palace, Kamel Feki, Minister of the Interior, Mourad Saidane, Director General of National Security, and Houssine Gharbi, Director General of the Guard national. The meeting concentrated on the security situation in Tunisia, underscoring the urgency of fighting monopoly and increasing prices as Ramadan approaches.

Commitment against Speculation and Monopolistic Practices

Focus was placed on the necessity for all state institutions to work closely together to execute the law and dismantle criminal networks that aim to profit illegally and disrupt social stability. Kais Saied criticized the practices of certain pressure groups who tried to exploit the Ramadan period to manipulate prices and orchestrate paid protests.

Condemnation of Collaboration with Foreign Powers

President Saied voiced his disapproval of those seeking foreign support in preparation for the elections, accusing them of betraying the interests of the Tunisian people and the nation. He condemned their attempt to portray themselves as victims while falsifying facts and spreading rumours and conflicts.

Call for Justice and Denunciation of Hypocrisy

Kais Saied called for legal action against sympathizers of the Zionist movement and the enforcement of laws linked to crimes against the external security of the state. It disclosed the hypocrisy of those who claim to support the Palestinian cause while being funded by Zionists.

The president also criticized the use of media and social networks to harm Tunisian society.
