The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, affirmed that the Parliament entered a state of anarchy and that nobody will accept.
Kaïs Saïed said, during a meeting Monday at Carthage Palace, with House speaker Rached Ghannouchi and his two vice-presidents: “I say it for the thousandth time and let history document this, I am not in disagreement with anyone and I am not seeking collision with any party, and I am working within the law and carrying out the will of the people ”.
He added that “he will not allow the collapse of state institutions, which must function within the law and naturally.”
Saïed also declared during this meeting that “the legal means contained in the constitution are available to him and that they are like missiles on their launch pads, but I do not want to use them in this particular circumstance”, adding that “ the constitutional text gives me competences, which allows me to do what must be done, to preserve the Tunisian state ”.
“Today we are living, perhaps, the most dangerous and delicate moments in the history of Tunisia after independence, and everyone must have a sense of responsibility,” he insisted.
