With the approval of the President of the Republic, Kais Said an Army medical teams were dispatched to Italy to support the efforts of Italian doctors in combating the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
The initiative comes after a phone call with Italien president Sergio Matterella during which The Head of State stressed Tunisia’s readiness to send a medical delegation to support the efforts of the Italian authorities in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19).
The dispatched medical teams compromises of volunteer doctors from Anesthesiology and Biosecurity as well as nurses.
Minister of foreign affairs, Minister of National Defense, Director of the Presidential Office, the Ambassador of Italy to Tunisia, First Advisor to the President of the Republic for national security as well as other officials was at El Aouina military airport to send them off.
