Tunisia-President Kais Saied: Every shot fired by a terrorist will be met with a deluge of bullets

President Kais Saied headed Sunday to the Sousse and examined the scene of the terrorist attack, committed Sunday morning at the Akouda crossing in El Kantaoui, during which Warrant Officer Sami Mrabet was martyred and Warrant Officer Rami Limam was wounded.

President Saied stated that “those who incited the three terrorists to execute this crime are more criminal than the latter and will assume their responsibility before God, people and history.”

Speaking to  the media, he called as “a dupe and sick, whoever wants to overthrow the State by such cowardly actions that direct to nothing besides martyrdom and leaving widows and orphans.”

He communicated his confidence in the technical police teams who will succeed to identify those behind this terrorist attack, which will not bring down the State. He affirmed that every shot fired by a terrorist will be met with a deluge of bullets.

He expressed his gratitude and thankfulness to the officers of the security and military institutions, stressing his concern to examine various legislative texts that preserve the security and military forces, as well as their families.

In this regard, the Head of State asserted distress that no legislative text on this subject had been submitted to a Cabinet meeting, although it is ready since last December.

He revived that under the expected legislative text, the family of the security and military institutions’ martyr will proceed to enjoy his salary and benefits of career advancement as if he was alive.

Saied estimated that such measures are irrelevant, given the sacrifices made by the security and military officers, who had offered their lives to the nation.

He assured that the security and military institutions are capable of protecting every parcel of the national territory and preserving the general security in the country and are determined to confront terrorists, who have failed in the past and will fail in the future.

“All the terrorists’ dreams will be shattered on a solid wall, that of the Tunisian people and the Tunisian nation.”
