President Kais Saied presently has 10 days to pick a new prime minister-designate who will strive to put collectively a government satisfactory to the assembly.
Tunisia’s parliament Friday rejected the government submitted by Prime Minister-designate Habib Jemli after months of consultations between political parties to fill positions.
Deputies voted 134 to 72 against Jemli’s proposed government of independent figures due to “conflicts” between the parties over political appointments.
