Tunisia-President Kais Saied lands in France for 2 days visit

President of the Republic Kais Saied, on Monday afternoon, arrived in Paris on a two-day friendship and working visit, at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

The President was greeted at the Paris-Le Bourget Airport by French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian and a number of French officials, including ambassador of France in Tunis Olivier Poivre d’Arvor, said a Presidency statement.

Saied was also seen in by deputy chief of mission at the Tunisian Embassy in Paris Fathi Ben Maaouia, ambassador and permanent representative of Tunisia to UNESCO Ghazi Ghrairi, members of the embassy and consular missions of Tunisia in Paris, as well as representatives of the Tunisian structures in France.

This is the first visit by a President to France since the COVID-19 outbreak and the strict health measures taken in that country months ago.

The two presidents will discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and address regional and international issues of common interest.
