Tunisia-President Kais Saied meets European Parliament Vice-President Fabio Massimo Castaldo

President Kais Saied received European Parliament Vice-President Fabio Massimo Castaldo, who heads the European Union Election Observation Mission (EOM ) at Carthage presidential palace.

Castaldo presented the Head of State, the electoral observation mission final report and displayed the delegation final output regarding the presidential and lesglative elections. The President of the EOM highlighted the importance of continuing the collaboration and exchange of views between Tunisia and EU.

He also hailed The Independent High Authority for the Elections (ISIE) effort, the positive interaction of voters and the success of the electoral process. He renewed his congratulation to president Kais Saied on winning the election.

He added that the delegation work includes a new approach aimed at the establishment of a dialogue with concerned political parties to implement the union 27 recommendations contained in the presented report.

The EOM’s president stressed Tunisia role in the Mediterranean as a crucial partner in rebuilding civilization.

 He further renovated the EU keenness to continue supporting the democratic process under the current economic and social challenges facing the country.

In the same context, he expressed determination to develop collabotration between the EU and Tunisia in various fields.
