The head of state stressed the solid ties of friendship between Germany and Tunisia, a one that was solidified by German Chancellor Angela Merkel phone call.
The Head of State affirmed the profundity of Tunisian-German relationships not only on the level of bilateral cooperation but also on the level of coordination of positions and exchange of view, particularly in the fundamental issues of common interest, particularly the Libyan crisis, where he emphasised the necessity for Tunisia to have an effective role in attaining a solution to this crisis. He also stressed the need to find an everlasting solution to the crises.
On his part, Foreign Minister Heiko Maas highlighted the important place that Tunisia enjoys in Germany as he extended again his apologies for not inviting Tunisia to the Berlin Conference. He further displayed a deep commitment to involve Tunisia in all future initiatives. He affirmed the comprehensive and critical role of Tunisia in achieving lasting stability in Libya
