Tunisia-President kais Saied meets House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith

President kais Saied recieved House Armed Services Committee Chairman Adam Smith at Carthage presidential palace.

During the meeting, the head of the state emphasised the extent and the strength of relations between Tunisia and the United States since the national independence to the present day. He communicated his satisfaction in the congress members stand of ovation for the Tunisian people during the revolution days, affirming his willingness to thank the congress directly.

The president of the republic stressed Tunisia stance that promotes a Libyan solution far away from foreign interference.He called upon the U.S to support efforts to find a peaceful political solution that respects international legitimacy and stop the bloodshed of the Libyan brothers.

 

On his part, Smith expressed his admiration with the Tunisian experience and his recognition toward the Tunisian people in their role in building democracy.

He revealed his country readiness to support young emerging democracies like Tunisia in many areas, especially in the economic, social and defence fields.
