President Kais Saied welcomed Minister of Foreign Affairs Noureddine Erray at Carthage presidential palace. The meeting centred on the repatriation of the remaining Tunisians stranded abroad and the situation in Libya.
FM Erray said he had consulted with the president of the republic the latest regional and international developments, especially in Libya. President Kais Saied reaffirmed Tunisia’s attachment to international legitimacy and the necessity to uphold the decision of the Libyan people, emphasising Tunisia’s opposition to any violation of Libyan unity.
“The political settlement of the Libyan crisis, away from any foreign interference, is the only solution,” declared President Saied
Erray also affirmed that the meeting examined the recent incident at Tunisia’s Consulate in Munich. The President of the Republic decreed to open an instant inquiry to determine responsibilities.
The Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had started an administrative inquiry into the alleged attack by the consul of the social attaché at Tunisia’s Consulate in Munich, Germany.
