Tunisia-President Kaïs Saïed orders the creation of an operations center for the management of the health crisis

The President of the Republic decided, by presidential decree this Wednesday, July 28, 2021, to build an operations centre to handle the COVID-19 crisis, the cell will be coordinated by a senior official from the Ministry of the Interior under the direction of the director-general of military health.
It will include representatives of the Ministries of Defense, Interior, Foreign Affairs, Health, Transport and Local Affairs, it will likewise be open to any useful contribution. Its mission will be –
  • Monitor the progression of the health situation in the country resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic-
  • Monitor the implementation of health measures and decisions taken to deal with the pandemic. 
  • Monitoring of the strategic stock of equipment and means of fighting the pandemic, including pharmaceutical goods, medical equipment, etc. 
  • Monitoring of the implementation of the national vaccination strategy 
  • Coordination with the different structures involved to identify problems and work to overcome them –
  • Provide relevant recommendations to contribute to decision making

The command of the operations room will present weekly reports to the President of the Republic on its activity
