Tunisia-President Kais Saied receives letter from President of Mauritania

The President of the Republic, Kais Saied welcomed today on April 2, 2021, the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed at the Palace of Carthage, the latter transmitted to him a letter written by Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Sheikh Ghazaouani.

On this occasion, the head of the state evoked the common history that unites Tunisia and Mauritania, emphasising the necessity to establish a new phase of bilateral relationships between the two countries.

He conveyed to his Mauritanian counterpart his sincere greetings and reiterated his eagerness to strengthen coordination and consultation and consolidate the tradition of exchange of support, particularly in regional and international forums.

For his part, the Mauritanian Minister of Foreign Affairs stated after the meeting that he was honoured to be received by the head of state.

Expressing the gratitude of his nation to Tunisia and its people for their continued support since the declaration of its independence and the contribution to the training of Mauritanian executives in Tunisian universities.
