The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, affirmed this Thursday, September 24, 2020, during a speech delivered within the framework of the summit of the Security Council on the post-COVID-19 world governance, that political conflicts now limit the effectiveness of the United Nations Security Council in crisis management.
He added that the world could face an acute financial crisis jeopardizing the economies of different countries. He noted that this crisis could also push millions of people into poverty and unemployment while warning of the negative repercussions of the new coronavirus covid-19, believing that these would be the most catastrophic since the last century.
Kais Saied added that the world today faces several threats such as pandemics, natural disasters, climate change and cyber crimes while calling on the international community to continue to provide the necessary assistance to the African continent and to support him in the rescheduling of his debts.
