Tunisia-President Saïed: A vaccination certificate could become mandatory

President of the Republic Kais Saied welcomed this Wednesday acting health minister Ali Mrabe at Carthage presidential palace.

On this occasion, the Head of State greeted all the parties who partook in the success of the mass vaccination days. He further gave the order to proceed organizing such events in coordination between military and civilian health, state institutions, national organizations and components of civil society.

Mr Saïed called for other mechanisms to be set in place to vaccinate as many citizens as possible. In this context, on September 4, 2021, a mass vaccination day will be arranged for the armed forces and citizens who were vaccinated on August 8.

The President of the Republic additionally reviewed the last preparations for the start of the school year and university, particularly in the health aspect. He emphasised the significance of the vaccination certificate which will be adopted soon.

The head of state called for vigilance and to prevent all risks of a new wave, particularly with the emergence of new variants of the Coronavirus in the world.

“We need to continue to acquire doses of vaccine, medical equipment and supply the strategic stock of oxygen,” he said.

Kais Saïed remarked that attention must be paid to other diseases and to find quick resolutions to overcome the shortcomings and ensure the supply of medicines.
