President of the Republic Kais Saied welcomed this Thursday, at Carthage palace members of civil society in Agareb (governorate of Sfax), to examine the general situation of the city and the efforts to fix the waste problem.
The head of state emphasised the unity of the Tunisian state and the importance of everyone’s awareness that the nation is going through problems.
He called, in this context, to be wary of those who call for escalation. The meeting was likewise a chance to study legal points related to the issue of waste. Mr Saïed remarked that the waste issue affects all regions of the country and that it will be resolved as soon as possible.
The President of the Republic listened to the suggestions that will be studied by the parties concerned in order to ensure a clean environment for all citizens, as stipulated in the Constitution, the Presidency of the Republic said in a statement.
