Tunisia-President Saied receives Abbassi

The President of the Republic, Kais Saied, welcomed this Monday, November 1, 2021, the governor of the central bank, Marouane Abbassi. During the meeting, the Head of State evoked that the socio-economic choices need to emanate from a reading of our reality.

He further emphasised the need to reassure citizens and opt for austerity, to avoid needless spending adding that it is necessary, in the first place, to count on oneself.

He further indicated that international cooperation must serve Tunisia’s interests. For his part, Abassi announced that international donors have expressed their willingness to react positively to Tunisia’s demands provided that its goals are clear .
