Tunisia-President Saied sacks Mechichi, Minister of Defense and Minister of Public Service

The president of the republic issued a presidential decree dismissing the following people:

  • Prime minister and interim minister of interior Hichem Mechichi
  • Minister of defence: Ibrahim Bartagi
  • Minister of public service and interim minsiter of Jutice: Hasna Ben Slimane
The decree specifies that the secretary of state and the secretaries-general of the presidency of the government will proceed to handle urgent matters, pending the appointment of a new head of government.
