Tunisia-President Saied speaks with Antony Blinken

The president of the republic Kais Saied spoke on the phone with the U.S Secretary of state Antony Blinken.

The call concentrated on the need to respect legitimacy, rights and freedoms. The Head of State added that the decisions he had taken fall within the framework of the application of article 80 of the Constitution.
On his part, Mr Blinken encouraged President Saied to adhere to the principles of democracy and human rights that are the basis of governance in Tunisia and urged him to maintain an open dialogue with all political actors and the Tunisian people.
