Tunisia – Presidential: no major offense that can influence ballot

President of the High Independent Instance for the Elections, Farouk Bouasker, stated today, Sunday, October 6, 2024, “that he has not seen any event likely to harm the smooth running of the electoral process”.

He confirmed that the participation rate in the polls in the presidential elections in Tunisia and abroad reached 2.16 percent at 1 p.m., adding that at this hour, 1 million 381 thousand 176 voters had voted on a total of 9 million 753 thousand 217 voters.

During a second press briefing held by the Council of the Commission at the media centre of the Capital Palace, it was reported that the participation rate in Tunisia’s elections had reached 14.5% by 1 p.m. this afternoon, with a total of 1,316,861 voters casting their ballots. The voter turnout abroad was registered at 10%, with 64,315 voters participating from outside the country.
