President of the National Chamber of Poultry Meats in Tunisia Brahim Nefzaouirecently revealed a decision aimed at reducing the financial burden on consumers.
It was decided to significantly lower the profit margins on the retail prices of chicken meat and turkey cutlets.
Nefzaoui, clarified that these reductions, which were welcomed by many Tunisians, are put in place on the occasion of the beginning of the 2023-2024 school and university season. They are designed for a duration of three weeks, or 21 days, starting Monday, September 11.
He added that by lowering the profit margin on chicken meat by 15% and turkey cutlets by 10%, the authorities hope to make these products more accessible for families during this back-to-school period when expenses are generally higher, reports Tap.
