Tunisia – Prison for former Sudanese soldier who planned attack in Tunisia

The Criminal Chamber specializing in terrorism cases of the Court of First Instance of Tunis has issued its verdict in the case of a former Sudanese soldier who was apprehended in Tunisia where he was preparing to execute a terrorist operation. He was condemned to 10 years and 9 months in prison for “planning a terrorist operation on Tunisian territory”.

The person in question is an illegal immigrant who entered Tunisia through the Libyan borders. He was arrested in Zarzis by a unit specializing in the fight against terrorism.

He had escaped Sudan and joined a training camp for terrorists in Libya.
