Tunisia-Program of PM Mechichi’s visit to Kairouan

Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi will pay a visit to Kairouan to commemorate the Battle of Badr at Okba Ibn Nafaa Mosque where he will attend a religious ceremony.

 

Below is the program of the day

  • Opening ceremony at the headquarters of the governorate at 4 p.m.
  • Visit to Okba Ibn Nafaa Mosque 16.50
  • Supervision of the commemoration of the Battle of Badr 17.00
  • The closing ceremony 17.30

The Battle of Badr was fought on Tuesday, 13 March 624 CE (17 Ramadan, 2 AH), near the present-day city of Badr, Al Madinah Province in Saudi Arabia. Prophet Muhammad, commanding an army of his Sahaba, defeated an army of the Quraysh led by Amr ibn Hishām, better known as Abu Jahl.
