Tunisia received 100,000 bibs, 20,000 tests for coronavirus, 741 protective suits and 1,100 face masks,” declared Director of Public Diplomacy and Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Bouraoui Limam.
This contribution, in the form of protective gear and screening for coronavirus, is granted by the African Union (African Centre for Disease Control Africa CDC), he said.
In a statement to TAP Agency, Limam revealed that the equipment, which is part of several contributions granted to all African countries, was financed by Chinese businessman Jack Ma.
“The African Union is carrying on its efforts to further strengthen international support to African countries in the fight against this pandemic,” he continued.
Limam pointed out that “Tunisia would like to hail the forces exerted by the AU and to appreciate the Jack Ma Foundation and the Ethiopian government for their efforts in the distribution and delivery of this equipment.”
The Director of Public Diplomacy and Information also praised the role performed by the Tunisian embassy to Ethiopia in securing the timely delivery of the equipment
