Tunisia-Protesting President Kais Siaed Paper-based consultation,Al Karama coalition halts negotiations for the premiership

Al-Karama Coalition declared in a statement that it ended all discussions and negotiations on nominees for premiership and expressed rejection of the “paper consultations” formula that President Kais Saied insists on imposing on the parliamentary blocs, emphasising that he will not present any name or list of nominations that are not specific to the Al-Karama coalition or within a coalition framework.

The Coalition estimated that the President of the Republic maintained on imposing his strange perception of the constitutional consultations and degrading them to a mere paper communication deposited by each bloc in the Office of Presidency Presidency Control , something that the party deems as an insult to the legislative authority and elected representatives, according to the text of the statement.

It pointed out that this trend proved its slip through the wrong choice that occurred on the resigning Prime Minister who had neither popular legitimacy nor a parliamentary bond in addition to the suspicions that he subsequently amounted to the level of financial corruption and conflict of interests, considering that Kais Saied insists on repeating the same wrong approach and ruminate the same failed experiment instead of acknowledging his responsibility and apologizing to the Tunisian people.
The party also stressed the lack of seriousness of the few and superficial discussions that took place with some parliamentary blocs to unify the position on the issue of nominations.

It further stressed that it was steadfast that the choice over the next prime minister had been decided, that the senior official had made his decision and that the decision to the commission was ready, and that the fate of the “paper consultations” would be as it was in the first time, the basket of the trash of the palace.
