Tunisia-Publication in the JORT of the presidential decree relating to criminal reconciliation: The persons concerned

The presidential decree connecting to criminal reconciliation was issued yesterday in the JORT after its approval by the President of the Republic Kais Saied. According to the first two articles of the legal text, the aim of criminal reconciliation is to substitute the judicial process, through the payment of sums of money or the launch of national, regional or local projects as needed.

The text establishes, in the same sense, the list of persons affected by criminal reconciliation; This is any person who is the subject of an inquiry related to an economic or financial crime or subject to Decree-Law No. 2011-13 of March 14, 2011, on the confiscation of assets and movable and immovable property. Added to this, the people who profited from the confiscated property. The law involves all crimes before 2011 in the following areas: public property, money laundering, taxation, customs, foreign exchange, bribery, state property and financial institutions.
