Tunisia-Qalb Tounes will not vote for the 2020 Complementary Finance Act Bill

Qalb Tounes parliamentary bloc promoted its 30 members not to vote for the 2020 Complementary Finance Act Bill in its current formula, urging the government to bring fundamental changes to the 2021 budget.

In a press release at the end of parliamentary days that were held on November 14 and 15 in Hammamet, the bloc affirmed that the fundamental modifications to the budget need be “based on realistic appropriations to manage public money, stimulate investment, implement the necessary support for production as well as deserving social groups and involve all social parties in amending budget”.

They also demanded a complete and in-depth examination of public finances to define responsibilities and confirm suspicions of misappropriation of public funds, based on the grave contradictions in the amending Finance Law of 2020.
