Tunisia-Rached Ghannouchi calls for accelerating the vaccination campaign

House speaker Rached Ghannouchi yesterday received Minister of Health Faouzi Mehdi and chairman of the Parliament’s Health Committee Zammeli Ayech.
The meeting concentrated on the evaluation of the epidemiological situation and the spread of COVID-19 in Tunisia.

As such, Mehdi highlighted the gravity of the health situation in the face of the strong spread of the Coronavirus and its rapid mutation in interior regions as well as the non-compliance with barrier rules and the crowding registered in the weekly markets.

For his part, Ghannouchi asked for accelerating the national vaccination campaign declaring that this is the single solution for resuming normal life.

Ayachi Zammel further noted the seriousness of some current indicators including the saturation of ICU beds, the lack of equipment and the increase in the occupancy rate of beds in hospitals.
