Tunisia: Rached Ghannouchi reacts to Kaïs Saïed’s position on the appointments made by Hichem Mechichi

House speaker Rached Ghannouchi ruled that the recent appointments of the head of government, Hichem Mechichi, if they are in accordance with the law and the constitution, are considered valid appointments and legal, in reaction to the statements of the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, Wednesday when he received Mechichi at the palace of Carthage.

Rached Ghannouchi, called for a policy of consensus and cooperation between different authorities, stressing that all authorities are now required to work in harmony and consensus.

It is recalled that President Kaïs Saïed denounced appointments for personalities with cases pending in court, claiming that they have no place in the state.
