Tunisia – Rades: Arrest of lawyer accused of attacking head of police station

The public prosecutor at the court of the first instance of Ben Arous authorized the detention of an attorney who violently assailed the head of the national security station of Rades, inside the premises of the station, after a dispute which had broken out between the lawyer and a taxi driver, following the lawyer’s refusal to pay the price of the taxi fare, so they went to the Rades Security station to settle the dispute and, when the head of the station was left his office to inquire about the case, he was attacked by the lawyer.

The spokesman for the Ben Arous Court of First Instance, Sadok Jouini, told the press that the charges against the lawyer include offending a public official with words, threats, public slander and assault of a civil servant in the exercise of his work.
