Tunisia-Radhia Jerbi condemns the lack of women representation in PM Jemli government

The National Union of Tunisian Women (UNFT) president Radhia Jerbi lamented the low rate of women representation in Prime minster Habib Jemli’s government which reached only 24% a figure that contradicts Jemlis statement that women made up 40% of his government. Jemli attributed this low attendance to the lack of women competencies.

Jerbi requested PM Jemli to remedy the situation by assigning women to Embassies , Governors positions and high-ranking positions in the State, reads a statement issued by UNFT facebook page.

She further affirmed that equity in women representation consecrates One of the most important constitutional principles related to equality of all citizens, men and women.

Moreover, she expressed deep hope that the new government will work to emerge the country from its economic and social situation toward stability.
