Tunisia-Ras Jedir: Tunisian-Libyan agreement for opening of four portals

Minister of the Interior, Khalid Nouiri, and his Libyan counterpart, Imad Trabelsi, inked a security agreement today, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, under the supervision of Libyan Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dbeibah.

Fundamental points of the agreement include:

The opening of four common border crossings to ease the movement of citizens of the two countries.
Resolving problems linked to the similarity of the names of citizens of the two countries.
The commitment to establishing six electronic registration centres for cars of Libyan citizens.
The decision not to impose unagreed fees or fines.
Reinforcing control at border crossing points.
The assurance of the absence of any armed presence in these areas.
