The criminal chamber responsible for examining financial corruption cases at the Tunis Court of First Instance rejected the release of former MP and businessman Ridha Charfeddine and delayed his trial until August 15.
The prosecution at the economic and financial judicial pole had issued a prison warrant against Charfeddine for accusations linked to making profits abroad without authorization from the Central Bank of Tunisia.
It should be noted that Charfeddine is imprisoned pending further inquiry into suspected money laundering.
