Following a meeting of the regional commission for the fight against disasters, the governorate of Tataouine decided to decree general lockdown in the delegation of Remada.
The governorate of Tataouine justified this decision by the considerable rise in the number of infections and deaths from the virus. The infection rate has indeed surpassed 400 / 100,000 in Remada. The regional authorities similarly emphasised that the other delegations of the governorate were all classified at extremely high risk, announcing certain restrictive measures, in particular the halt of work in administrations and banks, as well as the closure of shopping centres and weekly markets.
It was also decided to ban all kinds of gatherings as well as cultural and sporting events.
