The minister of Tourism and Handicrafts René Trabelsi will be visiting London next week to adequately consult with chief executives of the British government and travel agencies the Thomas Cook case and properly explore the possible resolutions that will overcome the tour operators‘ accumulated debts with Tunisian hotels.
In an official statement to TAP agency, Trabelsi said: “We asked for a meeting with the officials of the British government and other travel agencies to meet the request of British tourists who want to visit Tunisia.”
“There are no losses for Tunisia, but hotels that have been unrepaid,” he added, stipulating that the State which has nothing to do with this file will not reimburse these amounts in case of no payment by the British side.
He indicated that the hotels which had sustained damage are called to provide a file to enable the Ministry’s services to assist them with the British side,”specifying that Belgian, German and French enterprises that want to buy Thomas Cook, can approve agreements with these hotels.
