Tunisia placed in the bottom ranking of the fifth edition of the “U.S. News 2020 Best Countries rankings”.
The UAE topped the ranking by placing 22 globally and first in the Arab world ahead of Russia, Portugal and Thailand. Qatar placed second among Arab countries and 30th globally, followed by Saudi Arabia who ranked 31st globally, while Egypt placed fourth in the Arab world and 36th internationally, and Morocco ranked fifth in the Arab world and the 40th internationally.
The winner of the ranking was Switzerland which topped the best country in the world, while Canada has moved up to the second spot in the U.S. News 2020 Best Countries rankings. Japan placed third while Germany and Australia came fourth and fifth respectively.
As for the bottom of the ranking, Lebanon came first while Serbia placed second, followed by Oman, Belarus, and Tunisia respectively.
The rankings are a joint project by digital news service US News & World Report, marketing company Y&R and the Wharton School, a business school at the University of Pennsylvania.
The report takes into account 73 countries from all across the globe, making assessments in a range of categories such as economic influence, military might, education and quality of life.
