Tunisia-Requisition: The State will cover the costs of patients transported to clinics

 Prime minister Hichem Mechichi welcomed, this Monday, July 19, 2021, at Kasbah governmental palace, UTICA director Samir Majoul, the president of the union chamber of the owners of private clinics, Boubaker Zakhama, president of the Health Federation under Utica, Tarek Naïfer, in the presence of health minister Faouzi Mehdi and the advisor to the prime minister Oussema Kheriji.
The meeting was a chance to examine the mechanisms of application of the decision to requisition private clinics till the resumption of the normal rhythm of oxygen supply and to arrive at the best resolutions assuring the supply of hospitals and clinics in all the regions.
Mr Mechichi assured that Tunisia is going through an exceptional and sensitive situation necessitating the combination of all the efforts of both the public and private sectors, emphasising that the government is open to all proposals to activate the requisition decision.
At the end of this meeting, it was agreed to transfer all patients who risk a lack of oxygen in hospitals to private clinics under the charge of the regional health director of each governorate. The latter will coordinate the requisition operation. In addition, the state will bear all the costs of care if needed.
